Having worked in the industry for ten years or so I started Hammertons in 1990 because
I felt that most retailers were inflexible when it came to doing anything special.
Fine if it came from a catalogue but if not then the fitters end up bodging something
on site. On the other hand the bespoke cabinet makers whilst making fine furniture
often do not really understand kitchens, expecting the customer to provide the appliances
and other services. My company bridges that gap.
In 2004, frustrated with poor service, outrageous prices and lack of understanding
of the kitchen business by stonemasons, I started Caraco Marble and Granite,
www.caraco.co.uk, specialising in the supply and installation of granite kitchen
tops. We now have a dedicated team, a superb farbrication facility in Italy and
the largest choice in the area of granite and engineered stone tops.
